I believed that we would find a wondrous two folded love. One found love for just so short timed. Why did it have to be her?!? I thought there was a bright future for the two of them. Then Elphame and what she endured, the saga was very intriguing. I think I had hoped to hear more about Shannon (Rhianon), but time had definitely moved on quite some time. I guess they had their story. Now we will see what Brighid will find for her life's mate and more? Will this be truly the end of the series? Won't know till I reach the end.
I love P.C. Cast with her house of night series, this is definitely a different world. I have her last book of that series signed. Won't open it, have the digital, the hardback copy in a shadow box.
After this series, I think I will move on to Kristen Cast, check out her books and style.

When I moved out from my parents place years ago I left this book and for some reason I would miss reading the stories. So I finally bought it again. I like re-reading books after good amount of time. You don't know how different your perspective changes it's like your reading a whole different book. Also fell in love all over again. PC Cast work is always great.
It’s PC Cast! She has yet to fail me with her works! Absolutely love all her books!!
It's a great book. I would suggest you read the first 4 Partholon series before reading this. They start with Devine Beginnings. It's her Divine Goddess Series. And as always P. C. Cast is great.
I really enjoyed reading this book. It drags you in from the very first page. I think the characters were very complex and well thought out. The whole story was easily imaginable.
3.5 out of 5 stars! I really enjoyed this story!!! I loved the new characters, the mixed races, and the love interests!! *hehee* Plus, the secondary story about her brother wasn't bad either. However, I'm not that big of fan about the ending. For one thing, I would have liked to have read an epilogue since it kind of leaves everything that is happening between them up to your imagination. And for another thing, I really wish the people who died didn't since I liked them, however I think I have an inkling of what will happen in Brighid's Quest (Harlequin Teen) because of the events that happened in this book and because I wanted them to get together more so then the two that did in this book. *sigh* Sorry to be confusing but I can't really explain it any better without giving the story away ... so you'll just have to read it! =0)

Only now do I find out that this is book number four in the Partholon series. I kept feeling like I was missing something. This copy is from the library. If I can make it through fast enough maybe I can get done before the due date. If not at least I know where to find this.

The library book went back. It took me too long to get through the series and catch up with the one I had. So I bought my own copy. This series is worth the money spent. I wish I could loan my copies to my friends who are not able to buy books right now. I understand that the author deserves to be paid, but if this were a hard copy I could loan it to anyone. It's a rough economy we should be able to share what we can.

I love, love, love this series and P. C. Casts writing! Though there are a few typos in this book, most of her writing is error free, which is a relief for a book reader.

This particular book starts slowly. If I hadn't been so wrapped up in this series I might have let it go. But I knew it had to get better. Maybe it was because the characters I had known and loved in the previous books were no longer there and I had to get acquainted with new characters--I don't know. But it did pick up and became quite exciting. I did grow to love Elphame and her people.

What I miss most may just be a writing tool. When Ms. Cast would write about Shannon it was always in first person. And I loved Shannon's personality. The first person kept me closer as a reader, like I was talking with a friend. But outside of Shannon and now in Elphame's life where Shannon is a distant great grandmother, that immediacy isn't there anymore.

Even still I loved this book and easily give it the five stars. Ms. Cast is a great story teller. I recommend her books to anyone, especially my female friends. And since most of us grew up reading about males being the main character, I think many advanced male friends would like this series, also, as there is enough action and adventure to keep anyone reading.
